A thorough eye examination includes the following:
- External examination of the eyes
- Measurement of existing glasses
- Refractometry
- * Keratometry
- Identification of vision habits/complaints in order to ensure the most comfortable use of glasses
- * Eye muscle relaxation
- Determination of distance correction according to refractive error and client comfort
- Determination of near correction
- * Convergence near point
- * Occlusion test
- * Visual field test
- * Color blindness test
- Glasses prescription
- PD i.e. measurement of the distance between the eyes
* if necessary
In addition, the optometrist will assist in choosing new eyeglass frames and lenses.
We recommend that everyone have their eyes checked once a year or as recommended by the optometrist!
